The left side of my brain, the arty side, isn’t functioning properly; Writer’s Block (Blogger’s Block?) has made me nostalgic. I blame this on the fact that I’ve spent all week putting together my CV, a task deathly close to test cricket on the world’s scale of boringness. My primary means of procrastination has been looking through photographs of a glorious European summer spent backpacking in 2010. This photograph is one of my favourites. It was taken in Granada, Spain. That wonderful afternoon, my friend and I got completely lost amongst the narrow, maze-like walking paths of Granada’s old quarter, and ended up at the highest point of a graffiti covered hill just in time to watch the sun set over the red-tiled roofs of the city. We were young and without a clue where the following year might take us; we were happy beyond belief. It was a perfect moment and I will be sure to treasure it forever.
